SangYup Lee 現年 54 歲，於韓國弘益大學（익대학교）畢業，在1995年時，進入加州帕薩迪納的 ArtCenter College of Design（藝術中心設計學院）完成汽車設計學位。
｜如何參加 World Car of the Year 世界年度風雲車評選？
世界年度風雲車：符合年度世界汽車獎資格的車輛必須每年生產至少 10,000 輛，在其主要市場的價格必須低於豪華汽車水準，並且必須在2022年1月1日和2023年3月30日期間至少在兩個不同的主要市場中（中國、歐洲、印度、日本、韓國、拉丁美洲、美國）進行銷售。
多類別參賽作品：世界性能汽車、世界都市汽車、世界電動汽車和年度世界汽車設計類別中的車輛也可能是整體「世界年度汽車」類別的競爭者，具體取決於型別和價格。 所有具備資格獲得其他世界汽車獎類別的車輛都將預設有資格獲得年度世界汽車設計獎。
