Okinawa Soba Kuina: A New Era of Culinary Innovation at Okinawa Outlet Mall
On April 25, 2025, Okinawa Soba Kuina will celebrate the grand opening of its first franchise store at the Okinawa Outlet Mall Ashibinaa in Tomigusuku, Okinawa. This marks a significant milestone for the brand, which redefines the traditional Okinawa soba with its “evolved” approach, blending heritage with modern creativity.

Founded by serial entrepreneur Takafumi Horie and Okinawan restaurateur Daisuke Higa, Kuina emerged from a mission to “reconstruct regional cuisines” across Japan. Launched in 2022, the brand spent two years perfecting its signature dish, Kuina Soba, a flavorful fusion of rich broth, springy noodles, and unique toppings like homemade island nam pla (fish sauce). After a successful debut in Naha and a relocation to Chatan, Kuina now brings its innovative soba to a prime location just 20 minutes from Naha Airport.
The new store offers a menu that showcases Okinawa’s culinary heritage with a contemporary twist. Highlights include the Kuina Soba (¥1,200), featuring a complex broth and seasonal island herbs, and the luxurious Nanatani Duck Chikinā Soba (¥1,400), made with rare Nanatani duck. To celebrate the opening, Kuina will offer limited-time promotions, including ¥500 soba sets from April 25-27 and free drinks for early diners from May 3-5.
Located in the bustling Okinawa Outlet Mall, the store is poised to attract tourists, families, and locals alike. With its commitment to quality, innovation, and community, Okinawa Soba Kuina is set to become a must-visit destination for food lovers in Okinawa.
